This document sets out how Paramount Insurance Agencies Limited collects, holds, uses and shares your personal information.  Your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 are not limited or excluded by this policy.

Collection of your information

When you provide information to us directly and when you obtain services from us we have to collect and securely store personal information about you. 

We may also collect personal information about you from third parties (e.g. your accountant or lawyer) where authorised by you.

The type of personal information we may collect may include:

  • contact details: name, address, phone number, email, dates of birth etc;
  • your driver’s licence details, motor registration details, etc;
  • personal information relevant to the service we will provide to you.

Information Use

We collect and store this personal information with the sole purpose of providing you with the general insurance products and services you have requested from us. 

Any information you provide to us is shared only with insurance companies, underwriting agencies,  and, if requested, shared with our regulatory body, the Financial Markets Authority, (FMA). 

Your information is not shared with any other third parties.

What safeguards are in place?

We have good security measures in place to protect your information and we take all reasonable steps to ensure that information is not be disclosed to any unauthorised person or organisation.

All advisers and staff are bound by our Code of Conduct which requires that all customer information and their privacy be respected.

All online and electronic information is captured using secure technologies and any paper-based records are located in secure premises.

Your right of access and correction

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to request any correction at any stage. If you’d like a copy of your information, please make contact with your broker.
